Who We Are

The owner, John Bergin had 25 years experience in refurbishing old properties all through the South East of England and areas such as Knightsbridge, Victoria and Kensington when Rural Properties was set up in June 1998 for re-furbishing older properties and the building of new houses.

John left Scotland at the age of 17 and moved to the Midlands where he was involved in many major civil engineering projects. He then moved on to Essex, and started in the building trade as a hod carrier. After gaining considerable experience and knowledge of new builds and property renovations he decided to gain experience in major refurbishment which involved all aspects of the trades and spent many years sub-contracting on major refurbishments which included drainage, underpinning and all aspects of the trade.

John then decided to start his own company and thus the birth of Rural Properties UK Ltd. It is a family business, building individual houses and refurbishing old cottages, with an excellent reputation.
